Pediatric OT Services

At Babies On Track, our pediatric occupational therapy services are rooted in prevention, early intervention, and evidence-based care. We support babies and their families during the most critical window of development — from pregnancy through the early years — when movement, positioning, and sensory experiences shape lifelong motor, cognitive, and functional skills.

Our approach focuses on empowering parents with clear guidance while providing individualized therapeutic support when needed. Whether you are preparing for your baby’s arrival, addressing specific concerns, or simply wanting to ensure your child is developing on a strong foundation, our services are designed to support healthy, confident development from the very beginning.

Prenatal and Postnatal Class

Our Prenatal and Postnatal Class empowers expectant and new parents with practical, research-backed guidance on how to support your baby’s early sensory-motor development from the very beginning. This class focuses on the importance of tummy time as a cornerstone for healthy strength and coordination, teaching you how, when, and why to integrate supervised prone positioning into daily routines so that your baby builds strong neck, shoulder, core, and back muscles — foundational for rolling, sitting, crawling and more. Tummy time also enhances sensory awareness and visual tracking, giving infants a full-body experience of movement and the world around them that supports healthy neurological and motor development.

Occupational Therapy Evaluation

Our Occupational Therapy Evaluation offers a comprehensive assessment of your child’s fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, coordination, self-care and play skills. Conducted by experienced pediatric specialists, this evaluation identifies strengths and areas needing support early, enabling highly personalized recommendations and interventions that align with your baby’s unique developmental profile. Early evaluation helps catch motor or sensory delays before they become entrenched, giving your family clear guidance on how to facilitate your baby’s progress and confidence in daily movement, play, and interaction.

Plagiocephaly and Torticollis

Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) and torticollis (tight neck muscle leading to head tilt) are common conditions in infancy that often occur together when babies spend prolonged time on their backs and in containers. Positional preference or neck tightness can lead to flattening of the skull and asymmetrical movement patterns, which may impact early motor skill development. Early, structured guidance and therapeutic support help your baby build symmetrical neck control, reduce muscle tightness, and promote a more rounded head shape without unnecessary interventions. Techniques we teach — including positioning strategies, supervised floor play, gentle stretching, and motor-building activities — help babies transition more smoothly through their early milestones and minimize long-term effects.

Developmental milestones

Understanding and supporting developmental milestones means recognizing that achievement of skills like lifting the head, rolling, sitting, crawling, and eventually walking reflects coordinated growth of strength, balance, and neurological connections. Through guided evaluation and intervention, Babies On Track helps you track your baby’s progression and provides evidence-based strategies to support and encourage continued development. Research shows that consistent, early engagement in appropriate activities — including tummy time and guided floor play — significantly contributes to achieving these milestones on schedule, laying a strong foundation for future physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities.
